Commitment at many levels
What began on International Childhood Cancer Day on 15 February 2025 developed over the course of the year into a Switzerland-wide movement, driven by children, adolescents, schools, sports organisations, companies and dedicated individuals.
87,490 jumps were collected through individual initiatives: school classes, clubs, companies and individuals participated with their own contributions and videos. An important part of this was the partnership with Rope Skipping Switzerland. Through this partnership, we were able to participate in the Swiss Jump Cup and bring the campaign directly to the rope skipping community – a valuable connection between sporting ambition and social responsibility.
Winterthur jumps: over 2,600 children in motion
A particular highlight in November was our participation in a school initiative that we were able to implement as a partner of the Winterthur Sports Office. 2,600 children and adolescents from 148 classes collected an impressive 381,980 skips in just a few weeks. The commitment of the schools, teachers and, above all, the children clearly demonstrated the power of collective movement.
Faces of the campaign
Particularly valuable were the many video contributions that brought “Jumping for a Good Cause” to life. Our testimonials explained why it is worthwhile to jump for childhood cancer research. Special thanks also go to Lina Mama Sports and the Crissier handball club, whose videos helped to spread the campaign.
When companies jump in
The campaign also resonated in the workplace: the teams at Müller AG Verpackungen, Müller AG Plastics, Müller DrumTec GmbH and Müller AG Processing collected 14,944 jumps at five summer events with 116 employees. Thanks to the generous support of the Ernst and Karl Müller Fund, CHF 4,500 flowed directly into childhood cancer research.
Such initiatives, together with the sponsors of the Winterthur initiative and all the companies and private individuals who supported us with donations or jumps, were crucial to the campaign’s success. In total, over CHF 11,000 was raised for childhood cancer research.
Staying in motion together
“Jumping for a Good Cause” has shown how diverse commitment can be: in the classroom, on the sports field, at company events or in one’s own living room. Almost 470,000 jumps are more than just an impressive number: they are a sign that movement connects and that many small contributions can achieve great things.
Thank you to everyone who jumped, organised, shared, filmed and donated.
