On Saturday, August 26th, the Swiss Pediatric Oncology Group (SPOG) was prominently represented at the Thun City Run. Right in front of the picturesque backdrop of Thun Castle was our tent, a hub of creativity in the heart of the running event.
The day greeted us with robust rain showers, but this did not dampen the enthusiasm and zeal of our on-site team. As if the sky acknowledged our efforts, the weather cleared up, and the afternoon showcased perfect running conditions, just in time for the numerous participants.
We are particularly proud that two of our own SPOG runners took part in the city run, emphasizing our commitment to pediatric cancer research.
But our booth wasn’t just a place for information and exchange; it was also a space for fun and creativity. Numerous children unleashed their imagination by painting our SPOG fabric bags with individual motifs – a colorful memento of this special day that they took home.
A heartfelt “thank you” goes out to everyone who visited our booth and supported our mission through their generous donations. With your help, we managed to raise about 300 Francs for pediatric cancer research. A contribution that makes a difference.
We also extend our gratitude to the organizing committee of the Thun City Run for sponsoring our booth and offering strong support. This partnership allowed us to introduce our valuable work in pediatric cancer research to a broader audience and to attract more supporters for our cause.
Participating in the Thun City Run was a memorable experience that brought us immense joy. We look forward to being present at more running events and hope to meet you there!
