SPOG events: Review and preview

Last year we were fortunate in being able to take part in a number of events designed to showcase research for children and adolescents with cancer to the public and to collect donations to support our important work.

One of the highlights was the SPOG charity concert on 7 May 2022, which was finally able to take place again after a two-year break due to the pandemic. Several choirs from the Bern region delighted the audience with a programme of varied and popular songs from all over the world, and all the proceeds from the concert were donated to children from Ukraine with cancer.

SPOG was also present at a number of fun runs to raise public awareness of the challenges posed by cancer in children and adolescents and research into childhood cancer. We hosted a stand at the Chäsitzer Louf in Kehrsatz (Canton Bern) in April, the Münsiger Louf in August and, most recently, at the Allschwiler Klausenlauf on the first weekend in December. Children and adolescents are able to colour fabric bags at our stand, while adults can take part in a competition. We also provide information on childhood cancer and the research into childhood cancer conducted by SPOG, and are happy to answer questions and talk to visitors.

We would like to invite all readers to visit us at our forthcoming events and support our mission. Information about future events can be found here.

Please also consider supporting our organisation with a donation so that we can advance our important work in clinical research into childhood cancer. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us to make a difference in the fight against childhood cancer.

We hope to meet you at one of our events soon! Thank you for your support.
