SPOG at the Allschwiler Klausenlauf 2022

On 4 December the Swiss Paediatric Oncology Group (SPOG) took part in the Allschwiler Klausenlauf, the “COOOLEST fun run in Switzerland”. Kids were encouraged to be creative at the SPOG stand, where they were able to colour fabric bags featuring the mascot Spogli. The colouring event was a great success and the children had a lot of fun.

The Klausenlauf run in Allschwil has taken place more than 40 times, making it one of the oldest fun runs of its kind in Switzerland. It’s an annual highlight for runners in the Basel region. This year’s motto was “RUN COOOL”, and SPOG’s participation made the event more colourful still for the young athletes.

SPOG’s intention in being present at the fun run was to draw attention to childhood cancer research, to showcase its clinical research activities relating to childhood cancer to a wider audience and to gain sponsors.

SPOG’s participation was a complete success and was fun – both for us and for our visitors young and old!

We hope to see a lot of children and adults supporting SPOG again at next year’s Klausenlauf.
