Switzerland on the Move: Campaign launch at the UKBB in Basel
To mark the launch of our movement campaign, representatives from the UKBB, SPOG and other guests are gathering in Basel to officially open the campaign. Together, they will kick off the next 21 days, during which people from all over Switzerland will be getting active for a good cause.
During the campaign, every registered minute of physical activity moves our mascot Spogli further along its virtual journey through Switzerland. The route leads from one children’s cancer centre to the next and covers a total of around 1’113 kilometres.
Taking part is easy
Taking part is very simple and no registration is required:
- Get moving: Whether it’s jogging, vacuuming, working out or going for a walk: every form of physical activity counts.
- Log your minutes: Regularly log your minutes of physical activity directly on the campaign page. You can take part as an individual or with your own team. Every minute of physical activity is converted into distance, helping Spogli make progress on his virtual journey.
- Trigger a boost. Anyone can support Spogli with a donation. Every donation triggers a boost and helps Spogli make faster progress. All proceeds from donations go entirely towards SPOG’s childhood cancer research.

The Battle is on: Team Berthod versus Team Billeter
Ski racer Marc Berthod and TV presenter Jann Billeter are competing against each other with their teams in a sporting challenge. You can join one of the two teams and help propel it to the top – whether through minutes of physical activity or a donation. The battle runs until midnight on 13 September, and the winning team will be announced on 14 September.
The next stages
After setting off from Basel, Spogli’s virtual journey continues to Aarau, Zurich, St Gallen and Bellinzona. In St Gallen and Bellinzona, there will once again be in-person events. Spogli will then travel via Lucerne, Bern, Lausanne and Geneva back to the SPOG Coordinating Centre in Bern.
