International Wills Day: Leave a lasting legacy

Today, on 13 September, we celebrate International Wills Day. A day that is celebrated in 16 countries around the globe - including Switzerland. A will sets out what happens to your estate when you are no longer around. It allows you to do good beyond your lifetime and make a lasting mark.

Many of us want to leave something to our family and friends. But did you know that you can also support a charitable organisation like the Swiss Paediatric Oncology Group SPOG? A legacy offers the opportunity to donate a fixed amount of money or a specific asset from your estate without the organisation inheriting any rights or obligations, such as debts.

Legacies are invaluable to many non-profit organisations. At SPOG, such donations help us fund vital research for children and adolescents with cancer.

“What good a person gives out into the world is not lost”, said Albert Schweitzer. This Wills Day could be an opportunity for you to think about your own legacy and how you can make a lasting positive difference.
